detached but not cool

• when u are giving bad news to patient, u need to be polite, detached but not cool.
• how can u be detached but not cool?
• u show your care but actually not allowing yourself to care.

because if u are too emotional, they get scared; and then they get emotional, that's bad.

• seriously?
